I t's 5 stars, for what it is. Opening in 1949. It's 50' type diner. Old style look, but clean and nicely maintained.

I included menu pictures, but it's typically diner food. We feel the food is great. I love the all day breakfast, especially the all meat omelette. Their Moon Burger is also great. Frankly we've never had a bad experience here.

The entire staff is friendly and you can sit at the "bar" and actually watch your meal being cooked!!

When in Hutchinson, it's a must try... but be warned, no matter the time, they are typically busy!!!

I'm in town for a few days and wasn't sure where to go. Thanks to the trusty Google and Yelp, I found Skaets which appears to have opened in 1949.

The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was very good. The tenderloin had a nice flavor and the fries were also well cooked, though not too well done.

Overall, a good place with reasonable prices. They've also got all-day breakfast.

Was in yesterday and it was busy which is normal. Waitress said there will be a delay due to volume. Not a problem, well, until we've been there for a little over an hour and start seeing everyone else get there food but us. People who sat next to us and got there 45 minutes after us got their food. We were done,... Left a 20.00 spot for tea and water and food we never got! Waitress was non existent and then at the end tells me as we are walking out oh it's coming... You know if she would have came over and said, I'm so sorry I forgot to put your order in or hey the ticket got lost I would have been fine, heck already been there over an hour. Have went there all my life but that made me feel like I'm not welcome or appreciated there and I won't be back!

So I have always loved skates- it's a hutch original. I went with my family a few weeks ago- and we had hair in 3 of the 5 plates. Cooks weren't wearing hair nets. I won't be able to go back after the last experience. The wait staff is great- i can't handle the hair.

Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon while in town for the basketball tournament. This is what I would consider a "greasy spoon" with a home style type of feel, and the usual crowd. We opted to sit at the counter which was right by the grill like a diner and ordered a couple of beverages.

I asked what everyone orders and got a smile and told to get the moon burger. I obliged and went with fries. The moon burger is a standard thick burger with bacon and cheese, toppings on the side and a nice helping of fries.

Main issue here was how long it took to get our food. Keep in mind, I can see the cook and the tickets he was working on and rather than do the burgers together and look at all tickets he took the tables one at a time.

Took forever to get the food which I had to whoop down and barely got a chance to taste let alone savor. Fries were fresh and the burger had a nice flame char to it. Overall- it wasn't anything incredible but I got a coffee mug and we headed back to the bus.

Somehow this place didn't offer milkshakes. There was a couple pie options but I decided to save the extra jean size and leave with what I got.

A Hutchinson tradition! The food is great and just like diner food should be - piled high and hot off the grill'. The service has no rhyme or reason, but they are there, they bring what you ask for and fast! This is not fine dining, but an old fashioned diner experience. One you do not want to miss!

Small town diner with wide menu selection. I enjoyed the moon burger and my grandpa enjoyed the chicken fry. Our server was friendly and quick. The downside of this restaurant is the space; it feels a bit cramped, especially at the entrance. It wasn't ideal for someone with a walker.

Good diner food, I enjoyed the atmosphere. We sat at the bar and has some good coffee and got to relax!

Awesome Burgers. Get the Moon Burger and you'll be over the moon. I recommend sitting at the counter and watch as the cooking staff churns out food at a break neck pace. Pancakes are huge, but the burgers really shine. This is the epitome of a local Diner and man are they good.

This is my second time trying this place. I am writing the review as I wait for my omelet.

The last meal was good. This is a nice locally owned greasy spoon type place.

They are nice. The service is fast and friendly. They have adapted to the post covid life. Paper disposable menus and spacious dining and such.

I am sure that I will become a regular here as I just moved to town.

They have a pretty good menu variety. They have breakfast all day, steaks and many other diner type fare.
