Event Description: July 4th celebration begins with the Annual Patriots Parade sponsored by Eagle Communications. Parade is Downtown Hutchinson on Main Street, 10 a.m. beginning at Avenue B to 12th Street. After the parade 2-7 p.m. will be the Community Picnic with Inflatables, food, craft vendors, and entertainment located just west of the Sports Arena, 700 East 11th. Fireworks will be at 10 pm with simulcast music on KHUT 102.9. To view the fireworks park in Kansas State Fair parking lots A, B & C. July 5th events will be held at the Sports Arena west parking lot as well as the nearby HCC campus 10 a.m. - 11 p.m.. There will be a variety of events, water guns and balloons; kids carnival, motorcycle rally; food eating contests; Kansas Kids Archeology dig; car engine blow; texting contest; cup stacking contest; Kids Activity Korner; Build a Birdhouse; sidewalk chalk art contest; sidewalk sale; inflatables and a 2-story water slide; live stage with a variety of entertainment; Hutchinson's Got Talent!show. July 6th is Free Family Swim Night at Salt City Splash 7-9 p.m. Lots of give-a-ways plus free hot dogs, chips, & drinks for the first 300 guests.
